Rivolição!

Rivoli, a theatre in Porto, was peacefully occupied by a group of actors and spectatores, in protest against the privatization of the direction of the theatre, decided by the local municipality. The occupation took place as a final act of a play, previously planned by the actor's group, and lasted for 79 hours! Other citizens supported the group from outside and the attentions where successfully drawn into the cause, which showed the fairness of the claim. The decision, apparently, cannot be taken back and the president of the municipality showed himself completely uninterested about the demonstration. However, the group won. Not the withdrawn of the measure but the victory of the reason!

I rememember this theater was already under "siege" some years ago... because of some kind of deal with the church Igreja Universal... , wasn't it? That year, they wan.

that happened indeed but it concerned another theatre, the "Coliseu do Porto", which the "igreja unversal do reino de deus" wanted to buy. it took some time but the efforts yielded results and the theater was prevented from being sold to that group. another group is responsible for its management, the "associaçao dos amigos do Coliseu".
