Reminds me of a movie: "L'Atalante", Jean Vigo, a very old one: 1934 or so. This would be when Juliette looks a last time to the ship (ok, you have to imagine it somewhere far away) she is going to leave behind along with her husband, and departs to the city life.

How did you get this effect??? Is this photo taken with a new kind of lens, by any chance? :-)

The sky could have been taken from the Netherlands!
The black framing gives it something reaaaly sad!

didnt see that film, Mafalda :) this photo is actually from kind of far away - Dublin. is the Dublin bay, i guess. the water was very shallow and the sky light was mirrowing against it. then i touched it up with a software, a function called "reflector".
but i do have a new pair of lenses in my hand! my new kodak! its fantastic, very small, high functionally equiped, very cool ;)
be prepared for my kodiks!
