It seeams to me like there's a waiting feeling on this picture. The drivers waiting at the traffic jam, the main character waiting to cross, the night waiting for the sun to disappear. The yellowish-light effect really adds an about-to-happen mood. Good one. I suppose no photoshop, it's real?

It could have been taken almost somewhere at the exit of a town in southern USA or Mexico, the scorching heat nicely represented.
And being devoid of almost all color, it gives it a nice 'old' touch.
